  1. Watching the Green Berets and realizing and understanding how they so selflessly put thier lives on the line for what seems like a never ending cause, makes me so proud of our military for doing what they do. I was in tears after SSgt died. My condolenses to his wife and children. I just can’t express how much empathy I feel for you.

  2. I watched television and one program from national geographic channel attracted my attention. Embedded journalists lively portrayed the USSF’s mission in Afghanistan, and at the ending phase of the program, an IED exploded and Kyu Chay passed away. As a young immigrant from Korea, I feel a deep and deep sorrow for losing him. I would like to say, “Sergeant Chay, you are not forgotten. You are the most proud son of Chay family, American people and Korean people.”

  3. I am a perfect stranger to SSG Kyu H. Chay, his family, and friends, however, today I have a heavy heart and sorrow for his father, mother, siblings, wife, and sons. I first learned about SSG Kyu H. Chay’s life and unfortunate passing in Operation Enduring Freedom through an HBO documentary that me and my wife saw last nite. I was eating dinner when she switched to the documentary and I instantaneously stopped eating because I could not bear to watch family members in mourning and such pain. Then I saw Mr. Chay and Mrs. Chay talking to their son in Korean at the Arlington National Cemetery. They were in so much pain and grief, I could not stop crying. My heart sank and I felt so much grief. It felt like I knew SSG Chay and his parents but as a stranger I could never feel the pain his family has endured. I am a second generation Korean-American and it hurt me so much to see my fellow American’s family in so much pain. I just want to say “Thank you Mr. SSG Kyu H. Chay for your ultimate sacrifice… you will NEVER be forgotten in my soul and heart. Your family and country is proud and honored to have you as their guardian angel. I will see you soon buddy and I will make sure to visit you at Arlington with my wife and kids to honor you in person. God Bless you and your family and United States of America! I love you brother….!”
